The Guide Dog Tartan itself was designed in-house with thoughtful details: the blue and gold yarn reflect the Guide Dog brand colours, while additional blue, red, and green represent the Scottish branches of the Guide Dog.
Who are the Guide dogs?
Founded in 1931, by Muriel Crooke and Rosamund Bond in Merseyside to help servicemen who had returned home from World War I with sight related impairments.
The Guide Dogs have since helped over 36,000 people through pairing with an expertly trained guide dog.
The Guide Dogs are one of the UK’s leading sight loss charities, who breed and train dogs to help adults and children with visual impairments regain their independence and confidence. The charity also provide a whole host of services to better inform and aid people living with visual impairments, whether this is a home assessment, providing with tools and education, or some general tips on how to live with blindness.
Staggeringly, 70% of adults receive no support within the first 12 months of diagnosis, the Guide Dogs aim to bridge that gap and bring the much needed support to individuals to live their life to the full.
Not Just a Pretty Face – Meet Zula!
Our Guide Dog Tartan collection is modelled by the beautiful Zula, a 12-year-old former Guide Dog trainee. Zula retired from training early and found her forever home with our Sales and Marketing Coordinator, Hannah, where she has been spreading joy ever since. Now, she frequently accompanies Hannah to our office in Forfar, adding a dose of ‘paw’sitivity to our workplace.
Zula may be done with guide dog training, but her modelling career is in full swing as she represents our premium Scottish tartan dog accessories with style.
